Requirements for Visitors

At Sesame Lane, protecting children from harm is our highest priority. To keep every child safe, we have clear entry requirements for all visitors, students, volunteers, and contractors on top of what’s required by legislation. These safeguards help us make sure that every adult in our learning environments is safe, authorised, and here for the right reasons.

For this reason, entry to a Sesame Lane centre is only permitted once all requirements have been met. Thank you for supporting a culture where children’s safety always comes first.

Visiting a Sesame Lane Centre

At Sesame Lane, children’s safety and wellbeing are always our top priority. We’re proud to maintain a strong child safe culture, and we ask every visitor to uphold this commitment alongside us. By entering our premises, you must read, understand and agree to the Sesame Lane Visitor Induction.

If you’re planning to visit one of our centres, please keep the following in mind:

Our Expectations for Visitors

Always put safety first. Every decision, action, and interaction should protect and support the wellbeing of children.
Champion children’s rights. Treat every child with dignity, care, and respect and help us create environments where they feel safe and valued.
Never be alone with children. A Sesame Lane employee must be present with you at all times when you’re around children.
Act with integrity. We have zero tolerance for racism, bullying, harassment, or any behaviour that causes harm or discomfort.
Respect confidentiality and privacy. Information about children, families, or our services must never be shared outside the centre.
Speak up if something doesn’t seem right. If you see or suspect any behaviour that doesn’t align with these principles, please notify the Service Manager immediately in line with the Sesame Lane Speak Up Policy.

If You’re Working or Volunteering Directly with Children

(Except regulators and special guests)

You must:

Comply with the Sesame Lane Code of Conduct and the Sesame Lane Child Safe Policy
Hold a current and valid Blue Card / Working with Children Check, police check, teacher registration, or AHPRA registration, and present it on your first visit for validation.
Agree to the Sesame Lane Volunteer Induction.

Signing In and Out

Every time you visit, please sign in at reception using our Visitor Management System.

Choose your visitor type (Registered Visitor, Contractor, etc.).
Once your details and your photo are taken and entry requirements are verified, you’ll be issued a photo ID temorary name bade. Show this to the staff member at reception before entering. You must wear this on clear display for the duration of your visit.
Remember to sign out when leaving.

Parents and families dropping off or collecting children do not need to complete this visitor process.
