The 3 Day Guarantee provides families with greater access to affordable, high-quality early childhood education and care.
Under the 3 Day Guarantee, all families are entitled to at least three days of subsidised early learning each week, regardless of work or study hours. This change offers greater certainty for families and ensures more children can benefit from consistent early learning experiences.
What this means for families
Families can now access:
~ Up to 72 hours of subsidised care per fortnight (three days per week) without needing to meet activity requirements
~ Up to 100 subsidised hours per fortnight for families who meet the activity test, hold a valid exemption, or care for a First Nations child
~ Greater flexibility and meaningful cost-of-living relief, with clearer, simpler eligibility.
~ Families can save thousands each year. For example, a family earning $90,000 could save over $11,000 annually
~ Families with higher activity levels or special circumstances can still qualify for up to 100 hours of subsidised care, while those earning over $533,280 remain ineligible.
