Sesame Lane Kindergarten offers meaningful experiences and interactions that support your child’s early learning, wellbeing and development, now and into the future.  Kindergarten is the ideal way for children to prepare for their transition to schooling. The Queensland Government approved Kindergarten Program is offered across all of the Sesame Lane day care centres in north Brisbane. The program is run by a Bachelor qualified teacher and comprehensively meets the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (ELYF) guidelines and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG). The program embraces the inclusive vision that “all children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life.” This works hand in hand with our tailored approach of play based learning that caters to the talents and interests of each child.

Free Kindy in Queensland from January 1, 2024.

The QLD Government has announced Free Kindy in 2024. This means up to 15 hours a week of an approved Kindergarten program will be subsidised, in addition to the Child Care Subsidy. This will help families ease the cost of living pressures and allow children to attend kindy for at least a year before they start school. Want to know more? What’s Best for Your Child’s Development?

At Sesame Lane, our people make the difference. Our Educators and Teachers take a holistic approach to child development and learning recognising the connectedness of mind, body and spirit. When early learning and Educators take a holistic approach, they pay attention to children’s physical, personal, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, as well as the cognitive aspects of learning.

Minimum attendance for two days per week is recommended to support each child’s successful involvement in the educational programs and support their social development through friendships. It is important for families to note that approved kindergarten programs are available for children the year prior to beginning Prep. So, children should be aged 4 by 30 June in the year they start kindy.

Sesame Lane Kindergartens are well equipped, welcoming and comfortable environments for children and their families. Each Sesame Lane Service has a variety of learning areas that encourage discovery through play, including a classroom environment, outdoor play area, community gardens, cooking areas, sensory rooms and quiet spaces. Our caring Educators always keep the wellbeing and safety of kindergarten children at the forefront of our practice. Children attending Sesame Lane Kindergartens are supported and encouraged to be their best, to learn and grow.
