Great Stories From Our People

Angel’s Head Start in the Workforce

I started a school-based traineeship with Sesame Lane when I was in year 10 at high school because I’ve always wanted to work with children. I studied my Certificate 111 in Children’s Services as part of my schooling and worked a few days a week after school as part of the Certificate. When I left school, I walked straight into a full-time job as an Educator, doing what I love.

Conor’s Career Progression

Before joining Sesame Lane Team, I previously worked in a Regional Manager role amongst the school aged care setting. With my knowledge of multisite management, I applied for position at Sesame Lane to further enhance my skills and abilities within single site management role and support Sesame Lane direction.

When applying for position with Sesame Lane, they could see my potential and financially supported myself to complete a Diploma in Early Learning as I have already completed my Diploma in School Aged Care.

Therese’s Recognition for 20 years of Service

Winning the Employee of the Year award in our region has been a highlight of my career. I love every minute of my job working with children. Working for a family owned business where I feel valued and appreciated makes my job even better. Sesame Lane has allowed me to move into a mentor role to share my experience and knowledge with people entering the sector. When I can see children that are engaged and happy and the relationship with the educators is healthy and reciprocal, that lovely balance it has, is really rewarding.

Kerri’s Vision as Employer of Choice

As Head of Sesame Lane, I have a responsibility to our people to ensure we provide the best working environment possible. My motto is that ‘Our People Make The Difference’ so we have to make sure our company invests in our people, they’re our greatest asset. Reward and recognition is a major factor in how we keep our teams happy and engaged. For me communication is also key.

My door is always open for a chat, and employees are encouraged to email me with their ideas to make our company better.
