Colleen McDermott

Service Manager / Nominated Supervisor

I see myself as a passionate leader with a flair for kindness and curiosity in workplace culture; and I believe that ‘relationships’ are key to everything that we do. This builds the foundation of my leadership style and underpins my focus on the wellbeing of my team. I strive for a team to feel heard and supported, whilst we walk alongside and meet the needs of the children & families within our care. I value the balance of understanding the seriousness of the childcare & early education sector and the roles we fill, whilst finding a way to spark joy and kindness within the way we work together.

Our Redcliffe Kids Early Learning Centre

Sesame Lane Redcliffe is our pioneer kindergarten and childcare centre, conveniently located in the heart of town. Our outdoor playgrounds provide a natural setting for children to explore, while our indoor environments are designed to support both group and individual learning experiences with furnishings and equipment chosen carefully to create a welcoming home-like feeling.

Jennifer Hewett Kindergarten Teacher / 2IC

Qualification: Diploma Studying Bachelor of Early Childhood

Jenny is coming up to 10 years Service with Sesame Lane. Jenny has completed both her Certificate 3 and Diploma in Early Education and Care; Jenny is currently studying her Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood. Jenny displays a great passion and inspiration for all children’s learning and development each and every day in her role as a Kindergarten Teacher. She is a real people person and with her bubby disposition and caring nature you will find that nothing is ever too hard for her.

Emma Prince Educational Leader

Qualification: Diploma in Early Education

My vision as Educational Leader is to support and provide guidance for our childcare educators to create meaningful play-based educational programs and experiences for all children. To build respectful and trusting relationships with educators and to work collaboratively enabling our ability to affect positive change as a team, and to have trusting and familiar relationships with our families, built through secure attachments with the children of our service.

Melanie Edwards Lead Educator

Qualification: Diploma in Early Education

I have been working in childcare for 4 years. I have had the opportunity to make many little friends and watch them grow and learn over those years. I have been a Lead Educator in different age groups and my favourite room at the moment is Toddlers room. Children have a special way of filling your heart with joy and are my passion for coming to work each day.
