My vision for Narangba – Cotton Tree Drive is for our community of families, children, local schools and businesses to all come together to support our next generation. Children under 5 are sponges and they soak up every little thing they see, hear, touch and feel. As Educators, Teachers and adults it’s our job to empower them to explore and learn in a nurturing, safe and caring environment where everybody belongs.

My career in care and education began 30 years ago and 25 of these I have been with Sesame Lane. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services. Over the decades, I’ve built relationships with families that last for years. It’s wonderful to help children achieve their milestones and watch them grow from nursery to school age.

What keeps me inspired and what I love most are the conversations we have with the children. So many cuddles and smiles, and a ‘Hi Miss Kerrie!’ each day. And then when they see you at the shops, they run up for a hug. There are so many things I love about my work – the pictures they draw for you and the small, special gifts they give. So many memories.

When the day is done, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, including my own happy, healthy learner – my 12-year-old son, Jy. To relax, I love dirt-biking, fishing and camping. Someday I’d love to travel around Australia in a caravan.

Our Narangba Kids Early Learning Centre

Sesame Lane Narangba – Cotton Tree Drive is opposite Jinibara state school and we have a great relationship with the school supporting our Kindergarten children to transition to Prep. Our spacious outdoor playgrounds allow children to learn and play in a natural environment.

Pam Cannon Educational Leader / 2IC

Qualification: Diploma in Children’s Services

I have been involved in the Early Childhood Sector for over eleven and a half years, all of which have been with Sesame Lane. I commenced as a very passionate trainee and progressed through to the role of Educational Leader and 2IC. I am truly grateful for our wonderful families allowing me the opportunity to play a major role in their children’s early development years. My heart melts when I walk into the rooms to be greeted with big smiles and warm hugs from our Happy Healthy Learners each and every day.

Kamni Naicker Kindergarten Teacher

Qualification: Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education)

I have been working in the Early Childhood sector for about 9 years. I joined Sesame Lane in April this year as a Kindergarten Teacher.

I chose this profession because I love children. I love to see them grow, learn and develop. I love to be a part of their learning journey where I can encourage and support them to expand their competence and confidence so that they can develop to their full potential.

I belief each child is a unique individual and they are all capable learners.

I love cooking, sensory experiences and science and love to share and experiment my ideas with the children.

I’ve been working in Early childhood for 6 years starting my career as a school based Trainee at Cotton Tree Drive Narangba and very happy that I’m still working here and now studying my Bachelor of Early Childhood and Primary. I enjoy working with children and love watching them grow.

I’m also a mother to my beautiful daughter and love spending all of my spare time with her.
