Perfect for a garnish on any Asian inspired meal in just 15 minutes, you can transform ordinary vegetables into tangy, crunchy bites that will take any dish to the next level. This receipe is also perfect to take the sting out of raw onion for salads, street tacos or wraps. Thank you to Sesame Lane Marketing Extrodinaire, Tanya Ricketts for contributing this recipe.
Vegetable of your choice:
- Cucumber (sliced into ribbons with a peeler) the professionals de-seed but it’s not completely necessary
- Carrot cut into thin sticks
- Onion, red or brown, in slices, squeeze with your hands to almost squash/break the onion slices
- 1/3 Cup Water
- 1/2 Cup Brown Vinegar
- 3 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tsp Salt
Add pickling liquid ingredients into a bowl and stir.
Add your prepared vegetables into the liquid
Let sit for minimum 15 minutes, stirring occassionally if your vegetables are not fully covered in the liquid.
