Shrek / Hulk Dip

As parents, we all understand the importance of getting our children to eat more vegetables. However, this task is not always easy – especially when you have a picky eater on your hands! Fortunately, we have a solution that has been a big hit with our own children: our Shrek Dip (sometimes also called Hulk Dip!). Named after the famously green superhero, this tasty dip is chock-full of nutritious ingredients that will encourage even the pickiest of eaters to get their daily dose of veggies.

Shrek Dip

We often serve the dip in individual cups or bowls with sliced carrot, cucumber, capsicum, snow peas or use what vegetables your child likes.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 avocados
  • 1⁄2 cup Philadelphia cream cheese
  • Tsp lemon juice
  • Pinch garlic powder
  • Pinch of Mexican chilli powder
  • 1⁄4 tsp of taco seasoning

METHOD

Remove the flesh from the avocados and mash in a bowl.

Add the cream cheese, lemon juice and seasoning and whisk together until smooth. You can also use a food processor to make this job quick and easy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Serve with vegetable sticks and crackers of choice.
