DIY Ice Cream in a Bag is the perfect activity to make any day exciting. For example, think about how you start out with refrigerated (or room-temperature) ingredients and then need to cool them down to turn them turn into ice cream. In this science activity, you will make your own ice cream in a bag and explore the best way to chill the ingredients to make them become a creamy delicious treat!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 small zip lock bag + 1 large zip lock bag
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
- 1 tray of ice cubes
- 6 tablespoons table salt
METHOD
In the SMALL zip lock bag, add the milk, sugar and vanilla essence.
In the LARGE zip lock bag, add the ice and salt.
Put the small zip lock bag into the large zip lock bag with the ice & salt.
Ensure zip lock bags are well sealed.
shake the bags all around until the milk mixture is hard or looks like mashed potato.
