Welcome To
Sesame Lane Montessori Children’s House
Where Each Day is Filled with grace and courtesy
Our Montessori Children’s House is a specially designed wing within our North Lakes Joyner Circuit Service, officially opened in January 2021. We are the first Montessori Early Learning Centre in North Lakes offering long day care hours and a Government Approved Kindergarten Program within the Montessori Teaching Method.
Our new outdoor environments are equipped with herb and vegetable gardens for children to nurture and care for, providing plant to plate learning for our children. The children love to spend time watching our Australian Sting-less Bees as they come and go from their hive learning about Australian insects. Our creative designers are called to work at our woodwork bench for hands-on experiences. Knowing that children need to be active, our climbing fort encourages big movement and the development of gross motor skills. One of the children’s favourite play areas is the natural creek bed running through the middle of the yard.
Inside, the prepared environment of our Montessori classrooms catering for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, allows children the freedom to choose their own activities, from learning to pour themselves a glass of water or holding a pencil to using specially designed Montessori materials that aid learning mathematical and geographical concepts.
We invite you to our Montessori Children’s House for an obligation free tour through our beautifully prepared environments and to learn more about the Montessori Method.

Amber Riddle
Montessori Directress
I am very privileged to bring Montessori to Sesame Lane and to our North Lakes community. I have over 10 year’s experience within the Early Education Sector, 7 of those years in a Montessori Children’s House in Chapel Hill. I am extremely passionate about the Montessori Method and believe that by trusting and respecting the children’s learning journey we open a pathway to peaceful and united community.
I was raised with a farming background and spent many years participating in local country shows, parading brahman cattle and competing in stud cattle completions. In my personal time I enjoy gardening, photography, and anything nature including caring for a Kelpie, a cat and 2 bee hives.
I moved to Brisbane in 2013 and fell into the teachings of Dr Maria Montessori; it was through studying my Diploma in Montessori that I understood the benefits to guiding children to be independent and confident learners. Since then I have studied a Cert IV in Training and Assessment which helps me to guide staff in learning the method and to share the Montessori wisdom with children and families to the best of my ability.
I invite you to our Montessori Children’s House for an obligation free tour to learn more about the Montessori Method. I’m honoured to meet you and your child and take you through our beautiful prepared environments and discuss your child’s goals to develop an individualised learning path of independence and self confidence for your little one.
