Our History

 

Our vision to inspire learning early has grown over the years from a humble wish to care and nurture children to a workforce of over 380 Educators, Teachers and staff all working together to provide caring and educational experiences to realise each child’s best potential. In 2019, we celebrate 31 years of educating and caring for children in the Moreton Bay region.

January 1988 – Our pioneer Service at Redcliffe opened its doors. On the first day of care we opened with 8 children and 3 Educators.

 

May 1991 –

Our Redcliffe Service was expanded to include a specialised creche in a separate building.
January 1994 – Sesame Lane Rothwell opened, also servicing Deception Bay with a courtesy pick up and drop off bus.

 

September 1997 – Narangba – Banyan Street opened its doors, our first Service to offer care for school children.

 

September 1998 – South of Caboolture, our Morayfield Service opened on Caboolture River Road.

 

August 1999 – We expanded operations to include a centralised management and administration team.

 

January 2002 – Narangba – Cotton Tree Drive opened, including Narangba School Zone. This was the first Brisbane facility to offer care for school children in a purpose built facility within the private sector.

 

October 2002 – Kippa Ring 1 opened its doors, the first of 4 separate Services to be built on our Kippa Ring location.

 

January 2003 – Not long after Kippa Ring 1, Kippa Ring 2 opened it’s doors.

 

January 2004 – Kippa Ring School Zone opened to cater specifically for older school children run by a specialised out of school hours care coordinator.

 

May 2004 – Kippa Ring – Anzac Avenue opened, completing our Kippa Ring location Services.

 

March 2004 – Sesame Lane’s corporate management and administration team moved to the second level in Kippa Ring above Kippa Ring – Anzac Avenue Service. The team are fondly known as Sesame Lane Head Office.

 

July 2004 – Our Clontarf Service opened, our closest Service to the Ted Smout Bridge and Sandgate.

August 2007 – To cater for the flourishing new community in North Lakes, we opened our first Service in the new suburb, North Lakes – Discovery Drive.

 

January 2010 – North Lakes – Joyner Circuit opened across from The Lakes State College as a double Service to cater for the growing North Lakes population.

 

July 2013 – Our two story North Lakes – Astley Parade Service opened next to Drake’s IGA and situated across the highway from Dakabin.

 

February 2015 – North Lakes – McLennan Court was built with an open plan environment, a new concept in the child care industry.

 

January 2018 – Kippa Ring 1 & Kippa Ring 2 combined and reopened as the new Kippa Ring – Regency Street Service following extensive redevelopment and refurbishment with dedicated play spaces for younger and older children.

 

August 2018 – Sesame Lane Dakabin opened its doors, a brand new child care Service catering for 99 Happy Healthy Learners.

 

July 2019 – North Lakes – Flinders Parade opens it’s doors with a library, music room and a parents coffee nook, cut to name a few stand out features.

 

We continue to develop new and innovative ways to ensure all our Happy Healthy Learners experience learning and growth that will last a lifetime.
